
Dr. Michelle S. Zepeda

Dr. Michelle Zepeda uses an evidenced based social justice approach to empower youth, their parents, and young adults. She has
extensive experience working with children, adolescents and young adults in community mental health, hospital and assessment settings.
She is a published author in the area of providing culturally sensitive care to her clients
and integrates this work into her daily practice. Dr. Michelle Zepeda is an English- and Spanish-speaking bilingual psychologist, and can provide
all services in both languages.
For assessments, she collaborates with her clients to identify their specific goals and provides them with concrete recommendations
to rediscover their strengths, overcome their challenges, and identify the support they need to live the life they want.
Dr. Michelle Zepeda routinely works with medical, academic, and community systems to advocate for her clients.
Clinically, Dr. Michelle Zepeda uses an integrative evidence-based approach to individualize interventions to best support her clients.
She is trained in, and uses evidence-based approaches such as, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), interpersonal therapy (IPT),
narrative therapy, and motivational interviewing.
Dr. Michelle Zepeda is also a certified CONNECT parent group facilitator, which is an attachment-based approach.
When clinically appropriate, Dr. Michelle Zepeda capitalizes on the use of teletherapy to support her clients. She co-developed and
published a telemental health intervention for children and adolescents.
Dr. Michelle Zepeda currently works at Alberta Children's Hospital as a pediatric psychologist. She graduated from the Canadian Psychological
Association (CPA) accredited Ph.D. Clinical Psychology program at the University of Calgary and completed her predoctoral residency
at the CPA accredited South Island Residency Program in Victoria, BC.
